WeComm Xecutive Xchange Roundtable Event Highlight: Leveraging AI

WeComm Roundtable

Date: 23rd October 2025 Location: SushiSamba, London

On the 23rd of October, Ignite AI Partners joined senior retail leaders at SushiSamba, Heron Tower, for the Future of Retail X Executive Xchange, an exclusive, invitation-only dinner series curated by WeComm, in partnership with The Retail Technology Show and The Retail Bulletin.

The evening brought together leaders from some of the UK’s most influential retail brands, including John Lewis, Charlotte Tilbury, Selfridges, AllSaints, COS, Boots, Mulberry, and Dr. Martens, for an open discussion on how AI is transforming retail operations, creativity, and customer experience.

Cutting Through the Noise: Moving Beyond AI Hype

Our co-founders Neil Holden and Craig Bentley led the conversation, challenging the room to look beyond AI hype and focus on where it can create real commercial impact. Their session explored how AI can:

  • Turn fragmented data into a strategic asset.
  • Reduce wasted time and effort through smart automation.
  • Drive measurable growth while keeping humans firmly in the loop.

Real Stories, Real Impact

Two case studies particularly resonated with the audience:

1. From Fragmented Data to a Smarter Future
Neil and Craig shared how Ignite helped a housing client replace manual data handling with an AI-powered data cleansing and insight pipeline, improving accuracy, visibility, and decision-making speed. Attendees were especially interested in how AI can prepare data for other AI solutions, highlighting the importance of clean, structured data as the foundation for innovation.

2. Turning 2 Million Members into Revenue
This case study illustrated how generative AI can re-engage inactive customers by personalising communications at scale, proving that AI, when used thoughtfully, can enhance the human touch rather than replace it.

Insights from the Room

The discussion quickly evolved into an open exchange among retail leaders who shared their own challenges and priorities:

  • The growing use of AI-generated imagery for consistent product marketing.
  • Concerns around data silos and disconnected systems across multiple platforms, with many keeping an eye on Shopify’s US integrations and what that might mean for UK retail.
  • The shift in search behaviour towards zero-click results, prompting brands to rethink digital strategy and visibility.

These conversations reinforced a common theme: retailers are ready to adopt AI but only when it’s grounded in clear data, practical use cases, and measurable outcomes.

A Night of Connection and Clarity

Hosted in SushiSamba’s panoramic dining space overlooking London, the evening was as much about connection as it was about innovation. For Ignite AI Partners, it was a chance to reconnect with familiar faces, forge new relationships, and exchange ideas with leaders shaping the future of retail.

As Neil put it on the night:

“AI doesn’t replace people – it empowers them. The real transformation happens when humans and AI work together, guided by data that businesses can trust.”
